Château du Grand Caumont

With 100 hectares of planted vines within the 140 hectare estate in the Lézignon Corbières commune, Château du Grand Caumont is one of the largest wine estates in Corbières. The rugged stony clay-limestone soils of the terraced vineyard create excellent filtration for the vines. The estate is owned and managed by Laurence Rigal, who inherited it from her mother.


 

Château du Grand Caumont Cuvée Aurana Rosé

Appellation: Corbières
Grapes: Cinsault 80%, Grenache 19%, Syrah 1%
Terrior: Gravelly soil and terraces of clay-limestone
Alcohol: 13.5% vol.
Appearance: Salmon pink
Nose: Fragrant notes of roses, redcurrant and the tang of citrus fruit.
Palate: Fresh, light, pleasantly fruity with good acidity.
Pairing: Barbecues, fish, shellfish, delicatessen and mixed salads.

Appellation: Corbières
Grapes: Grenache 40%, Cinsault 40%, Carignan (old vines) 20%
Terrior: Gravelly soil and terraces of clay-limestone
Alcohol: 14% vol.
Appearance: Light red.
Nose: Aromatic
Palate: Fruity & spicy flavors.
Pairing: Delicious as an aperitif, with roasted or grilled beef, lamb, chicken and game meats.

Appellation: Corbières
Grapes: Cinsault, Grenache Noir, Grenache Blanc
Terrior: Gravelly soil and terraces of clay-limestone
Alcohol: 13% vol.
Appearance: Salmon pink
Nose: Refreshing summer raspberries
Palate: Round beginning with a nice freshness followed by citrus, flowers, rose and white pepper notes.
Pairing: Summer meals, white or red meat, barbecues, delicatessen meats, fish and shellfish, mixed salads, poultry, pizzas, fruit salads, summer desserts.

Château du Grand Caumont Cuvée Spéciale Rouge

Appellation: Corbières
Grapes: 40% Carignan (old vines - full berry vinification), 20% Carignan (destemmed - traditionally vinified), 35% Syrah (destemmed - traditionally vinified), 5% Grenache (destemmed - traditionally vinified)
Vinification: Each grape varietal is vinified separately using 2 different vinification techniques: full berry & traditional. The juices are kept separate until blended during the winter. They are then further aged for at least a year.
Alcohol: 13.5% vol.
Appearance: Dark ruby red color with garnet red highlights
Nose: Intense & powerful with black berry fruits, violet & pepper aromas
Palate: Dominated by dark berry fruit flavors, this wine is well balanced & structured with good length & a lingering finish.
Pairings: Delicious with beef, grilled meat, meats in sauces, stew & cheese

Château du Grand Caumont Réserve de Laurence

This wine is Laurence Rigal’s cuvée. She is the proprietor of the estate.

Appellation: Corbières
Grapes: 15% Syrah (vinified in full berries), 40% Syrah (destemmed - traditional vinification), 25% Carignan Noir (old vines / over 50 years old - vinified in full berries), 10% Carignan Noir (destemmed - traditional vinification), 10% Grenache Noir (destemmed - traditional vinification)
Vinification: Grapes are vinified separately, then blended in March. 10% aged in French Wood and 90% aged in stainless steel.
Terrior: Gravelly soil and terraces of clay-limestone
Alcohol: 14% vol.
Appearance: Dark garnet with purplish tints.
Nose: Blackberry and hints of spice.
Palate: Velvety fruit, soft tannins with delicate liquorice spice.
Pairing: Enjoy with game such as pheasant, roasted beef or lamb, cheeses and red fruit pies.

Château du Grand Caumont Cuvée Impatience

Appellation: Corbières
Viticulture: The vines grow in terraced sections from gravely clay-limestone soils. As Château du Grand Caumont's premier wine, Impatience is produced in limited quantity.
Grapes: 45% Carignan old vines (over 50 years in age - full berry vinification), 45% Syrah (destemmed & traditionally vinified), 10% Grenache (destemmed & traditionally vinified)
Vinification: 40% of the wine is aged for 8 to 12 months in French oak vats that are under 2 years old. The remaining wine is matured in stainless steel tanks. The wine is blended at the end of the winter before bottling.
Alcohol: 13.5% vol.
Appearance: Dark purple color with ruby highlights.
Nose: Rich & complex. Bright red cherry fruit with deeper darker notes of mellow fruit (prune, fig followed with spicy pepper & vanilla).
Palate: Elegant & approachable with a light note of oak. Flavors are concentrated with great depth & length. Notes of rich black fruit & spices. Well-balanced tannins & a long finish. Perfect accompaniment for game dishes.

Domaine de Mougin Rouge

Domaine de Mougin is a second vineyard & label for Chateau du Grand Caumont.

Appellation: Vin de Pays de l’Aude
Grapes: 45% Syrah, 30% Grenache, 15% Carignan, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon.
Alcohol: 13.5%
Appearance: Deep ruby
Nose: Dark berry fruits with hints of chocolate & spice
Palate: A full bodied round fruit forward wine.
Food Pairing: Grilled meats and pizza would be perfect

Château Tourril

Chateau Tourril, is a family owned vineyard located between the Canal du Midi and the fortified city of Carcassonne (both on UNESCO’s World Heritage List). This vineyard is a small 16ha jewel nested in clay-limestone corrie surrounded by shrub-land and garrigue. The name comes from an ancient Gallo-Roman tower standing on the heights of the estate. The whole production process is conducted organically with no pesticides and this vineyard has been under AB certification since 2016.


 

Château Tourril Les Cyprès Rouge

Appellation: Minervois
Grapes: 80% Grenache & 20% Syrah
Sustainability: Organic. AB certified. Native yeasts.
Alcohol: 14.5% ABV
Appearance: dark purple
Nose: Red and Black fruits, earthy, a touch of oak
Palate: Medium-bodied, this juicy red blend has aromas of fine black currant, ripe cherries and a little spice. It’s a soft wine with a warm finish and silky tannins.
Pairing: Made for food, this wine is flexible. Enjoy with meats and veggies off the grill, rotisserie chicken, eggplant gratin and more. Drink now to 2 years.

Château Tourril Panatella Minervois Rouge

Appellation: Minervois
Grapes: 20% Grenache, 80% Syrah
Winemaking: Total destemming. Temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel vats. Frequent pigeage (punching down the cap). Regular bâtonnage (stirring up the lees). Ageing in oak barrel used on previous vintage. Ageing in stainless steel vats. Blending. Traditional corks.
Sustainability: Organic. AB certified. Native yeasts.
Alcohol: 14.5% ABV
Appareance: Crimson with deep, garnet red highlights.
Nose: Oaky, elegant, fruity
Palate: Well-balanced, delicate, velvety, subtle black truffle, hints of blackberry, toast. Round, slightly minerally. Structured body, long length with fine tannins.
Pairing: Red meats in a sauce, cassoulet

Domaine Haut de Mourier

Housed in a old terrace covered with colluvium clay and limestone as well as located in the south of France only 10 kilometers west of Nimes (which is in the Southern Rhône appellation), this property is owned and run by the Bouix family.

The Bouix family is on their fifth generation of wine makers now. They own and harvest their own vineyards in the village of Nages and Solorgues in South of France, not far from Nîmes. The “Haut de Mourier” Domain comes from vineyards plots situated in the “Les Mouriers” tiny locality on the hillsides of Nages and Solorgues. There are 12ha of Viognier, 8 of Merlot, 2 of Syrah and 1 of Cinsault.

Appearance: Golden
Nose: Apricots, peaches and violets.
Palate: Peach, apple, pear, lavender and honey. Round and soft, fresh and well-balanced. Light sweetness and spicy fragrance.

Vignerons Propriétés Associés

Set on the right bank of the Rhône, near Pont du Gard, Vignerons Propriétés Associés stretches out in a triangle between the commune of St Hilaire d’Ozilhan, borders the Gard region and the Côtes du Rhône, Sommières, and the Camargue Region. Vignerons Propriétés Associés is a cooperative of winemakers with a love of their land, and the willingness to create and sustain quality wines. They farm organically and are certified as «Terras Vitis ».

Viniculture: Located on the Bassin de Thau along the Mediterranean Sea. Limestone soil and rising sun exposure surrounded by fragrant garrigues and tall pine forests.
Alcohol: 12.5% vol.
Appearance: pale yellow/straw
Nose: citrus fruits, stone fruits and floral aromas
Palate: white melon, white peach, citrus & minerals with a note of salinity on the finish
Pairing: fish, seafood and any Mediterranean dish
