SANTA VENERE

The Santa Venere farm covers 150 hectares on the hills of the ancient land of Cirò with about 100 hectares planted with vines. The land has been owned by the Scala family since the 1600's, but it wasn't until 1960 that Federico Scala took over the family land and built a winery, naming it Santa Verene after the stream that runs through the property. His son, Giuseppe, now runs the estate and has moved the winery to organic production with a focus on indigenous Calabrese grapes only.
