Franchetto

On the east side of Soave is the village of Terrossa, where the Franchetto family has lived for over a century. With an air of ancient peasant culture, they are tied to a tradition of frontier between the provinces of Verona and Vicenza. In 1936, the estate moved from farming edible grapes to wine grapes, planting Garganega and Durella. The vineyard soil is basaltic (volcanic) clay. The current owner is Antonio Franchetto. His daughter, Giulia Franchetto, is the winemaker.
