Charles Dubois Ma Belle Réserve Rouge

Appellation: Côtes du Rhône
Viniculture: Sediment limestone with pebbles and alluvia.
Sustainability: Certified organic.
Alcohol: 13.5% ABV
Appearance: A nice bright color, deep and dark red
Nose: On the nose this wine presents ripe fruits aromas, with fig aromas and spicy notes
Palate: On the palate, after a frank attack comes a roundness, a good concentration with smooth tannins. A full wine with a long finish, plenty of elegance and finesse.
Pairings: This wine will ideally complement game stew, roasts and read meat as well as mature cheeses.

Château des Roques

A few miles from Avignon, Château des Roques is a 32-hectare estate set in the heart of the Vacqueyras, a Cru Villages. Owner Pierre Seroul & winemaker André Fregière are both passionate about employing traditional winemaking methods while modernizing with modern equipment to reach the wine's full potential.


 

Château des Roques Vacqueyras Rouge

Appellation: Vacqueyras
Grapes: 70% Mourvedre, 15% Grenache, 15% Syrah.
Viniculture: Traditional winemaking practices. Wine is aged in French oak for 6 months.
Alcohol: 14% ABV
Appearance: Deep garnet hue.
Nose: Black fruits with notes of spice.
Palate: A well balanced wine with a full body of concentrated black fruits on the front palate. Spicy notes linger on the long finish.

Domaine Allégret

Didier Allégret has been the owner of Domaine Allegret for more than 30 years. It's a 40-hectare vineyard of pebbly, red earth located in the South Rhône Valley near the town of Laudun. The wine of Didier Allegret is elegant, frequently awarded and well-known for its freshness and finesse. The commune, Laudun, became an appellation in 1947 and was appointed to the Côtes du Rhône Villages status in 1967. It is iconically known for a Roman site, the “Camp de César”, which is a plateau known for archaeological digs.

Domaine de LA RONCIèRE

A family-owned estate with 11 hectares in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, 13 hectares in Côtes du Rhône and an additional 6 hectares of IGP vineyards, the Jean-Louis Grand Réserve is named after the owner of the estate, Jean Louis Canto. The grapes come from vineyards around the village of Plan de Dieu with stony, red clay soil.


 

Jean-Louis Grande Réserve Rouge

Appellation: Côtes du Rhône
Grapes: 50% Syrah, 40% Grenache, 10% Mourvèdre
Terrior: 30-year old vines grown in sand and clay soils.
Viniculture: The grapes are fermented in concrete vats, with 60% whole clusters included. After 18 days, the wine is pressed off and returned to concrete tanks to rest for 12 months before bottling.
Alcohol: 15% ABV
Appearance: Clear garnet
Nose: Pure ripe aromas of red plum & raspberry. Nice soft side-note of scrubland herbs.
Palate: Super-soft tannins on the finish. An old-school Côtes du Rhône. Tasty, pleasant, easy-drinking.
Pairing: Grilled meats, rotisserie chicken, pork chops, vegetable pastas.

Domaine de l’arnesque

Located in Jonquières in the Vaucluse, this 8-hectare estate has vineyards in 5 appellations: Côtes du Rhône, Côtes du Rhône Village Plan de Dieu, Cairanne & Châteauneuf du Pape. Marie & her husband Sébastien Pathier currently run the estate. Marie’s family has produced wine here for 5 generations, since 1846. Plantings include about 70% Grenache (with an average of 50-year old vines) as well as Syrah, Mourvèdre & Carignan. They don't use any chemicals in their vineyards. Sébastien ferments traditionally with an indigenous yeast in concrete tanks.


 

Domaine de L’Arnesque Cairanne Rouge

Appellation: Cairanne
Grapes: Grenache 60%, Syrah 20%, Mourvedre 15%, Carignan 5%
Terrior: red clay covered with rolled pebbles.
Viniculture: Vinification 21 days maceration. The marc is punched down for a maximal extraction, grapes are entirely destemmed. Ageing 12 months and concrete tanks in Barrels.
Sustainability: Traditional vinification without artificial chemicals.
Alcohol: 15% ABV
Appearance: Deep purple in color.
Nose: Ripe red & black fruits, spice and a note of licorice.
Palate: Luscious, velvety and intense.
Pairing: Enjoy with richer dishes of braised or grilled meats and roasted vegetables.

Domaine de Sareval Valréas Rouge

Appellation: Côtes du Rhône Villages Valréas
Grapes: 50% Syrah, 50% Grenache
Alcohol: 15% ABV
Terrior: Valréas, about half an hour north of Rasteau, has a micro-climate that adds structure and complexity to its wines.
Appearance: Clear purple going to a slight magenta rim
Nose: Raspberry, currant, blackberry with a note of spice on the finish.
Palate: More intense blackberry, mushroom, cocoa powder and slight gravel on the finish. Well-balanced, medium tannins, medium body, good acidity.
Pairing: Beef stews, roasted chicken, game meats, charcuterie in summer.

Domaine des Pentelines

Domaine des Pentelines has 26 hectares of vineyards in one single stretch of land. The Hardy family owned this property for 80 years before it was recently acquired by the Kandler family (from Minervois). The estate is located in the southern part of the Côtes du Rhône appellation, east of Avignon near Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The vines grow on the gently-sloping Pentelines hillside which is the origin of the estate's name. The soils are covered with pebbles, and the vines are swept by the Mistral winds. They grow a range of varietals including Grenache Noir, Syrah, Carignan, Mourvèdre, Marselan, Cinsault, Clairette, Marsanne, Roussanne & Grenache Blanc.

Grapes: Clairette 20%, Marsanne 20%, Roussanne 20%, Grenache Blanc 20%, Ugni Blanc 20%
Terrior: The vineyard is orientated to the west and water is well-drained thanks to its « Pentelines » which means soft slopes in the local dialect.
Sustainability: 100% organic // certified AB (Agriculture Biologique) // natural yeasts
Viniculture: Optimal matured harvest early in the morning to keep freshness and to balance tannins and sugar. Crushing, destemming and maceration for one month.
Alcohol: 13.5% ABV
Nose: Savory notes of beer hops, fresh tarragon & white peaches.
Palate: Creamy mouthfeel with flavors of apricots, grilled apples with a long finish.
Pairing: Baked fish dishes, pan-fried scallops, grilled sea bass on a bed of sautéed vegetables.

Grapes: Grenache 65%, Syrah 25%, Mourvèdre 10%

Viniculture: Optimal matured harvest for all grape varieties to balance tannins and sugar. Crushing, destemming and maceration for one month.

Appearance: Deep in color with shiny purple reflections.
Nose: Intense & fruity, a perfect balance of cherry, dark plum & red berry fruits.

Domaine des Pères de L'Eglise

Serge Gradassi (fourth generation grower) has been at the head of this family estate since 2002 with his niece Laetitia joining him in 2015. The vineyard, located at the four cardinal points of the appellation, covers a little over 19 hectares of which 15 hectares are in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Their grape harvest is exclusively manual.

Grapes: 80% Grenache, 15% Carignan (old vines), 5% Syrah
Terroir: Clay and limestone soils between the villages of Saint-Laurent-des-Arbres and Codolet, 18 kms to the west of the village of Châteauneuf-du-Pape on the west side of the Rhône River.
Viniculture: Long maceration in concrete tanks with pump-over and delestages. 100% concrete tanks.
Alcohol: 14%
Nose: Aromas of red fruits & berries
Palate: Medium in body. Full of red plums & red berries with complexity, herbs & earth.

Appellation: Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Grapes: 85% Grenache noir, 10% Syrah, 5% Mourvèdre
Terroir: 30% Red Sandstone, 30% Sol Brun, 20% Limestone, 20% Galets roulés (large round pebbles).
Viniculture: Cold pre-fermentation maceration for 25 days. 80%
Concrete tank, 20% Truncated tank. Then aged 40% Foudre (large oak barrel), 40% Concrete tank, 20% Old barrel.
Alcohol: 15% vol.
Appearance: Brilliant ruby robe.
Nose: Jammy red fruits (blackcurrant, blackberries), notes of leather and tobacco with a slightly smoked mineral side, an expression of garrigues
Palate: Beautiful volume, opulent with elegant spice and coated tannins.
Pairing: Beef bourguignon, lamb, duck confit, garlic sausage and pungent cheeses (Affidelice, Epoisse and Pont l'Eveque).

 
 

Domaine du Petit Romain

Domaine du Petit Romain is a family-owned vineyard within the Costieres de Nimes region at the base of the Rhône Valley in southern France. The owner, Bernard Angelras, named this estate of 67ha after his son, Romain. 35ha are planted with AOC vines. It is on the edge of the ancient town of Nîmes. Terra Vitis certified.

Grapes: 70 % Grenache, 30% Cinsault
Terroir: The soils have large smooth stones from alluvial deposits from the Rhône and Durance Rivers on a clay-limestone subsoil.

Viticulture: The grapes are harvested when perfectly ripe then destemmed. Maceration lasts 18-20 days with perfect temperature control and careful extraction of the aromatic and polyphenolic elements (pumping-over and delestage).

Alcohol: 13.5% vol.
Appearance: Deep purple with ruby red tones.
Nose: Raspberry and black currant, cinnamon and spice

Domaine le Vieux Moulin Côtes du Rhône Rouge

Appellation: Côtes du Rhône
Grapes: Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre
Alcohol: 14.5% ABV
Appearance: Opaque deep purple going to a magenta rim.
Nose: Aromas of tart to just ripe red fruits, tart blackberry, crushed rocks, a hint of black pepper in the background, thyme.
Palate: Fruit ripens on the palate with more red fruit presence, the finish is slightly tart fruit and rocky/earthy. Medium acidity, little tannin and a silky texture on the palate.
Pairings: Herbed roasted chicken, herb roasted pork loin, roasted vegetables, vegetable pizza.

Le Plan des Moines

The winery was started by three friends with almost sixty years of combined experience in the wine trade. Their goal is to produce terrific, genuine and natural Rhône wines. Named after the vineyard located between Remoulin and Avignon, the grapes are harvested and vinified the most natural way possible.


 

Le Plan de Moines "La Borde" Côtes-du-Rhône

Appellation: Côtes du Rhône
Grapes: 60% Grenache, 40% Syrah
Soil & Climate: The 12 acres vineyard is North/South exposed. Soils are mainly sand and clay with round pebbles. The vines are between 25-50 years old.
Viniculture: Manually harvested grapes, destemmed and put in stainless steel tanks for 18 days of fermentation. Maturing between 12 to 18th months in VAT before bottling. Rests 3 months in bottle.
Alcohol: 14%
Appearance: Deep garnet color.
Nose: Delicate nose with notes of crisp red fruits, blackcurrant jelly, raspberries and cedar.
Palate: Frank attack supported by fine and fleshy tannins and an almost mentholated finale.
Pairing: A good accompaniment to pizza and all Mediterranean dishes.

Le Plan de Moines "Les Charretons" Châteauneuf-du-Pape

Appellation: Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Grapes: 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre
Soil & Climate: Large pebbles and sand soil with Northeastern facing terrace.
Viniculture: Grapes are manually harvested and vinified at the estate, destemmed then put in stainless steel tanks. Fermentation on skin 3-5 weeks with soft extractions and a regular work on the lees. Pneumatic pressing, blending of free run wine and press wine, the wine matures 18 months, 30% in oak barrel and 70% matured in tank.
Alcohol: % vol.
Appearance: Nice deep red with red reflection.
Nose: Brandy cherry, laurel leaves, paprika and nutmeg notes.
Palate: Fine tannins in the mouth with notes of fresh red fruit, black licorice and cocoa.
Pairing: The aromatics of this wine compliments red meat dishes (beef and lamb) and game.
